Prices and payments
Our books are priced in British Pound Sterling (GBP) and our online transactions are processed through Stripe. Stripe is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, all transactions are securely handled and no card data is stored at our end. We are unable to provide prices in local currencies at the moment. We are not responsible for currency fluctuations, conversion rates, and any additional fees that may be incurred by customers during transactions.
Payment methods
The shop on our website allows payments using most debit and credit cards that are widely supported. If you have any problems making a payment using your bank card, or if you prefer to pay through PayPal, please contact us. If you prefer to pay by direct bank transfer (to a UK account only) please contact us. All sales on the website are final and non-refundable under general conditions.
Taxes
Books carry 0% of Value Added Tax (VAT) in the UK. The prices indicated for books, journal issues, and subscriptions represent the full price that you will need to pay, inclusive of taxes and postal costs.
Shipping
We offer worldwide shipping for our books. Options for UK/international economy untracked and tracked options are available at checkout. Please note that once the relevant option is selected and the order placed, the shipping method cannot be changed or modified. If you have any particular shipping-related requirements, please contact us before making the purchase. We are unable to make any changes once orders have been placed or items dispatched.
Dispatch and returns
All ready and available books are dispatched within a week of the receipt of orders and confirmation of buyers’ addresses. Please note that our pre-orders and subscription offers mean that certain books and journal issues are ‘in preparation’ and will be dispatched as soon as they are ready. The estimated dates for the dispatch of pre-ordered books is indicated at the point of purchase, but please note that these are indicative only and may change depending on the vagaries of production. For all subscriptions and pre-orders, we will always confirm your latest address before making dispatches.
In general, we do not accept returns. We do our best to package and dispatch all ordered books securely via the selected shipping option. Each order is handled personally and individually by us, no external agencies are involved in this process besides the postal service. We care about our books and our readers, and there is no chance that your order may be overlooked or misplaced at our end.
If the books you receive have considerable physical damage or serious production-related faults, please contact us – we will file a complaint and provide a replacement copy. Minor errors and faults, physical or otherwise, may be unavoidable despite our best efforts and may not always be remediable immediately. We will, however, correct these in subsequent editions, where notified. Damages incurred during/through shipping do not fall within the remit of our responsibility, and for such cases you must contact your local post or service provider to claim any damages.
